It has been n a whirlwind of a long weekend. We stood in line for a long time at the wake which was held on Dad's birthday - Happy Birthday Dad - Kevin, Judy and I toasted what would have been his 81st birthday. We had a few drinks and food at Kevin's with Hali and Andrew and got home around 12 am.
Today, May 23rd, we said goodbye to our uncle. It was a beautiful ceremony. The Barr kids are to be commended on the love and support that they gave their mom and each other through this trying time. I am looking forward to a good night's sleep tonight.
Sarah and Mark brought the kids to the reception at the Civitan. Well, King got upset and was angry at everyone. I wish I had a picture of him. He was so pouty and the more his cousins tried to make him smile the more his bottom lip stuck out, hands crossed in front of his chest and as stubborn as all get out. Gracie ate, as she states is her "most favourite thing to do", and Rosa ran up one aisle and down the other as heads would turn to look at her and smile. It was nice to see. Judy came home and is staying with me right now. She will be visiting hither and yon while she is here.
I hope Curt is doing well and stays in the hospital until he is feeling alot better.
Until next time....

Sad Day
Well, our uncle passed away early this morning. He had been sick only a few weeks. For the family who would like any information, please contact http://www.blairandson.com/ for funeral arrangements. I just checked at 3:14 pm and there wasn't anything there.

Hi there. I spent the day in Ottawa today with my sister while she had her Dr. appointment and treatment. It brought back alot of memories of the days that Don and I sat down there waiting for the next cocktail. It is also sad sitting there watching all the young people who are in different stages of treatment. We had a good day, well at least I had a good day. We spent alot of time catching up with family. She is a strong willed woman I'll tell ya, alot like our mother.
I was commenting to a friend how the majority of the clients in the waiting room were in their fifties and only a couple were in their seventies or eighties. Hmm, times are a changing. Thinking also of my older brother who is also battling his illness. Good luck to him.
I was supposed to go to Foley Mountain near Westport tomorrow with Gracie, on a field trip, only I don't have the results of my police check yet (had to get one for my volunteer job at the Salvation Army). I called Sarah to say that I could pick up the results tomorrow and drive to Westport. As it turns out, I don't have to go and this is a result of Sarah telling Gracie that Foley Mountain wasn't as high as she thought. You see, I took Gracie and King over the Rainbow Bridge in Stewart Park and unbeknownst to me, Gracie was scared and thought it was really high. She thought Foley Mountain was as high or higher and wanted Grandma to go with her, I guess to climb this monster with her. Once Sarah explained that it was just a name and that she wouldn't have to climb the mountain, I lost my seat to Kenzie, Gracie's friend. I forgot how little minds work. How cute. I think I will sleep in tomorrow and not get dressed until.....well....maybe never....ahhhh, retirement is wonderful.
Till next time...

Hi Everyone
Well this is a great way to keep updated with all my extended family and friends who are living far away. I had a wonderful day yesterday, went to a psychic fair with the woman who bought the house I lived in on Glenview Crescent. We spent two hours there, I bought some crystals for my grandbabies, they will love the refections when (and if ) the sun ever shines again. We then went to Mexicala Rosa's for lunch and had a luscious Margarita. MMM. Came home and vegged out. There, aren't you glad you logged on to read my blog? lol
I am doing pretty good. I have retired and am enjoying it so much. I spend alot of time with Gracie, King and Rosalee. Sarah is planning to go back to work and is anxiously waiting for a call from Eaton for an interview. They make electrical boxes etc. and she isn't sure if they will call her for Administration or factory. Either way, it is an excellent company to work for, good wages, good hours and a pension plan. Can't ask for more that that. I will then be babysitting the kids. Oh, oh, should I give them the candy or not lol.
Gotta go now.
